POWER PLAYTIMETM

Hands-on Training for
Parents & Teachers

This training is about you becoming the parent or teacher you always wanted to be.  In this course, you will gain insight into your child and yourself while mastering our simple yet profound SAY WHAT YOU SEE® system. Through class instruction and hands-on experience in home playtimes, this revolutionary parenting system will become an easy habit in a matter of weeks.

What is POWER PLAYTIME TM?

Little hands rolling clayYour child places the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and beams. This is her time alone with you. No phone, no siblings, no interruptions -- just you and the toys! You focus attentively on her and allow her to lead the play. With play dough it might sound like this: "You're rolling that piece into a ball. You want to roll it on the rug; you can roll it on the table instead." As the child easily complies you continue, "You made that one long and skinny. Looks like you have a plan." She smiles, "Yep, I'm making a sun! That's a sunbeam." "Oh!" you say, "Looks like it's turning out just the way you wanted!" Her face shines with pride as she realizes that what she thinks matters.

For preteens, knowing their ideas count is critical in saying NO to peer pressure. Playtime can help. For a 10-12 year old boy, it might sound like this: "You're building something." "It's a racecar like I drew in art today," he says, "All the other kids made robots, but I liked my car idea better." "I see," you acknowledge, "You could've followed the crowd but didn't. That shows independent thinking!" He smiles, proud that he chose to think for himself.

Your child's playtimes will be like no other's

A child in the lead with a supportive parent* will find her own way to play and you will be there watching for her strengths. The more you allow her to lead, the more her play will reveal the challenges she is ready to tackle. With your support, she will learn to solve problems on her own, explore her natural creativity, and overcome fears and disappointments.

*POWER PLAYTIMETM can strengthen all adult-child relationships--parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, guardians, teachers and caregivers.

Benefits of Playtime

A series of thirty-minute playtimes, once a week, off and on throughout childhood can help children master challenge after challenge, while cementing a life-long bond of trust and confidence with you. Your goal in each playtime is to leave your child feeling understood, appreciated, loved and empowered. This shower of intense "permission to be" is often exactly what is needed for him to become more self-confident, more independent and less demanding.

Control battles decrease and accusations like
"You never listen to me!"
disappear with POWER PLAYTIME TM

POWER PLAYTIMETM will teach you to focus on your child's strengths, give you access to patience whenyou need it most, and carry you through the teen years with confidence. You will always know just the right thing to say when you learn to SAY WHAT YOU SEE®
